Book tickets and tours →On some Thursday evenings the museum stays open late, well into the evening. The times for the day you choose appear when you book, so check them if you would like to visit in the evening.
Your ticket is for a date. Everyone goes through a security check at the entrance, and the ticket does not let you skip it. Arrive a little early.
The cloakroom is free. Suitcases, folders, parcels, backpacks and shopping bags have to be left there, and bags bigger than 56 × 45 × 25 centimetres are not accepted at all. Keep your documents, wallet, handbag and anything fragile or valuable, such as a camera, a laptop or a phone, with you. Staff may ask you to open your bag.
Photos and videos are allowed for private use, with the flash off and without getting in other visitors' way. Some works, especially in temporary exhibitions, may not be photographed, and a label tells you. Tripods and lights go to the cloakroom.
Visitors with disabilities and one companion enter free of charge, with a document. The museum has lifts, free wheelchairs, folding seats and pushchairs to borrow at the cloakroom, a baby-changing area and free Wi-Fi.
